  • Director General (MIRAD)

IESCO is looking for a top-level professional to lead their Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD). This is a senior management position where you will report directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors.

The main job of the Director General (MIRAD) will be to lead the process of shifting the company to the competitive electricity market – i.e. you will have to give direction to the entire department and show leadership in this major transition.

Eligibility Criteria:

This is a high-level position, so IESCO needs a candidate with a strong educational background and sufficient experience. If you want to take this opportunity, you must have these things:

  • Education: You should have a Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in fields like Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Law or Management Sciences, from a university recognized by HEC. If you also have a Master’s degree, that will definitely be a plus point.
  • Experience: You should have at least 15 years of professional experience, of which 10 years should have been spent in senior management roles. Experience in the power sector is a must, and you should have a good understanding of the technical, commercial and financial aspects — especially in the context of the utility business. Also, knowledge of competitive electricity markets and their compliance rules is important.

Key Responsibilities:

As Director General MIRAD, your role will be quite multifaceted and challenging. Along with leadership, you will also have to handle many important responsibilities, such as:

  • Overseeing bilateral power purchase contracts – i.e. managing electricity deals with different parties.
  • Handling legal and regulatory affairs – so that everything runs as per the rules.

  • Leading demand forecasting and transmission planning – so that future needs can be accurately predicted.
  • Working as a strong interface between IESCO and CTBCM (Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market).
